The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep of the Alpert Medical School of Brown University is an academic medical division whose purpose is threefold.
- Offer state of the art compassionate care to our patients.
- Conduct research to advance the science of our field.
- Train the next generation of leaders in our field.
We are based out of three teaching hospitals that include a large community hospital, a VA Medical Center, and a large Tertiary care level-one trauma center. The division covers a variety of general pulmonary, sleep, and subspecialty clinics across the state of Rhode Island. Many of our faculty currently occupy leadership positions in major professional organizations and have been past presidents of the American Thoracic Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and American College of Chest Physicians.
